Greetings from Big Bear!
The Events & Activities are below.
The weather has been excellent. Not too hot in the low to mid 80’s with cool breezes. The sun is closer though so if you are planning on hanging out around the lake or hiking make sure to wear sunblock, we burn within 10 minutes.
There was a list going around Facebook that had Big Bear Lake on it for toxic blue green algae and telling people to be careful with their dogs. We are not sure where this came from since there was no source listed on the letter, however I did look up photos of toxic blue-green algae and this is what to look for at any lake or water source that you take your dogs to: HABs may look like parallel streaks, usually green, on the water surface or like green dots, clumps or globs on the water surface; may look like blue, green, or white spilled paint on the water surface; may make the water look bright green or like pea soup.
Personally, I have never seen any of that on our lake. This is what I see and according to the Department of Environmental Conservation “Green algae can look like floating rafts on the water, but do not produce harmful toxins.”
MARKET UPDATE: There are currently 621 homes and condos on the market in all of Big Bear Valley. I don’t count Onyx Summit or Out of Area listings but those were only 15. In the last 7 days 21 homes have sold and closed escrow. Congratulations to my buyer and seller at The Club for being 2 of those 21! In the last 7 days 54 properties have gone in to escrow congratulations to 746 Villa Grove and 475 Thrush #56 for being 2 of the 54. The market is still hot!
