Greetings from snowy Big Bear!
The Events & Activities are below. You can also like my Facebook page Events & Activities in Big Bear for the most up-to-date events.
The weather was warmish on Sunday, by Monday wind gusts were coming in and by Wednesday it was snowing on and off all day. Here is a photo I caught of the sunset on Monday. Storms always bring great sunsets!
Here is the view from my house today (Thursday) after the storm.
MARKET UPDATE: There are currently 479 homes and condos on the market in all areas of Big Bear Valley according to the Big Bear MLS. There are 57 homes that are under $200k and the lowest price $99k. Now is still a good time to buy or sell. Contact me.
Homeowners Insurance: There has been a lot of concern about the lack of homeowners insurance companies that will write up here in Big Bear or companies that have insured homes for a long time are suddenly cancelling. If this is a concern of yours, please reach out to me. I have a list of companies that will write policy’s in Big Bear and our escrow companies are closing escrows everyday with these companies.
Fire Tax? There is a meeting today, that I was unable to go to, about the proposed fire tax. Although there are several people not in favor of any type of tax, the need for a fire department in the mountains is a no brainer. If we lose our fire department, we lose our home owners insurance and our loans. Since this is an immediate need, the only proposal on the table needs to be considered and has to be voted through with a 2/3 vote.
Road Conditions: Carry chains even if you have 4WD or AWD. Please research chain control locations as Caltrans is currently working to update chain control descriptions for consistency with internet mapping, like Google and Mapquest. You can also call 1-800-427-7623 for current highway conditions
