Greetings from Big Bear!

The weather is so nice, 73 degrees yesterday with blue skies. The pollen is literally shooting out of the trees. I recorded my tree doing this amazing thing if you would like to view it here is the link I uploaded it to YouTube https://youtu.be/XUKu_QMGrLU

I am seeing some hiking, walking, biking and fishing as locals are getting tired of not working and staying at home. Here are quick updates of what has happened this week:

Testing in Big Bear results from Friday April 17 – 1 tested positive out of 229 for coronavirus

City Meeting– The city will meet next week to determine what business to open.

The Grizzly has a list of what restaurants are open now for take-out.  The golf course and lake have been allowed to reopen, check out their websites for official dates. I checked and didn’t see it. Here is the website for the Big Bear MWD https://www.bbmwd.com/lakeinfo and for the Golf Course.

City of Big Bear Lake – Frank Rush has been sending daily updates every evening regarding corona virus.  There are 7 confirmed cases.  Below is a quote from last night email regarding lodging and vacation rentals:

With that deadline now a little more than a week away, and no expected adjustments to the Governor’s or County orders in the short-term, the City is now advising lodging facilities and vacation rentals to continue to block out all dates and not welcome any guests through at least May 8. This date may be extended further depending on continually evolving circumstances, and lodging facilities and vacation rental managers / owners should advise scheduled guests accordingly.

Joyful noise- Every evening at 7pm go outside and celebrate our “Big Bear Heroes” the first responders and essential workers.

Market Update: Our inventory always increases in the Spring time. Last year this time we had 392 homes on the market and currently we have 398; in the last 7 days 17 properties went in to escrow; and 7 properties have sold and closed escrow. That is a drop compared to 39 sold this same time last year. Congratulations to my seller of 339 E. Big Bear Blvd for being one of the 7 homes sold over the last week!

New Listing: I listed 2 lots for sale in Whispering Pines Mobile Home Park 391 Montclair Dr 131 and 203, Big Bear City. One has the carport with workshop and shed and the other has a garage still on the property. Great opportunity for someone who wants to put a mobile or manufactured home on these properties. You can have full time renters at this park where you own the land. HOA is $ 155 per month and this park has a ton of amenities. Here is the link to the virtual tour with all photos if this is something you are interested in. There is even a pool (closed right now but will open after the pandemic is over). This is link for 131 https://www.tourfactory.com/2734046 and this is for 203 https://www.tourfactory.com/2733814.

I have several homes coming on the market in the next few weeks. Stay tuned…
