Greetings from Big Bear!
The weather has been amazing in the high 70’s and low 80’s with breezy winds. Big Bear re-opened on May 15 and it has been busy! Our escrow company says there are twice as many escrows this June than there was last June. Big Bear is top 10 in the nation for AirB&B.
There are still restrictions in effect, depending on the business you go to. Some require masks while others are not. Most are doing their best to adhere to the social distancing. Events and Activities are pretty slim however you can keep up on them by joining my Facebook group Events & Activities in Big Bear. Today: Cruising the OSO #4 at Big Bear Snow Play at 11 a.m.; The Examiners are playing live music at 42164 Moonridge, Big Bear Lake from 5-8 p.m.; The Bowling Barn is open again; Farmers Market is on Tuesdays from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. or just walk the Village or hang out at the lake.
There was one drowning death this week in the lake. I believe this is the 3rd one this year. Seaweed grows tall and we believe that may be how people get caught up. Please be safe swimming in the lake, wear a life jacket.
MARKET UPDATES: There are currently 354 homes on the market in all of Big Bear Valley compared to 515 this time last year which is causing multiple offers on properties and values to go up. With low interest rates and violence in some areas, people seem to be looking for the quiet beauty of Big Bear. There are currently 215 homes in escrow and over the last 30 days 81 homes have closed escrow. There are 185 parcels of land for sale in all of Big Bear Valley. Contact me if you are looking to buy, sell or invest in homes or land in Big Bear.
Congratulations to all the graduates this week! I had one too, congrats to Jonah Coats! Wishing you much success in the future!
Keep in touch and stay safe!
